How Our Audience Figures are calculated

How We Calculate Our Audience Figures
Our audience data reflects measured online streaming analytics, using accurate server-side tracking to report Weekly Reach, Quarterly Reach, and Total Listening Hours. These figures only count listeners who stay tuned for a minimum of five minutes — in line with RAJAR’s official methodology.
We believe this threshold ensures our figures are both credible and meaningful for advertisers, accurately reflecting engaged listeners rather than fleeting connections or short tune-ins.
Estimating DAB+ Listening
To provide a realistic view of total listenership, we also include estimated DAB+ audience figures alongside our streaming data.
These are calculated using RAJAR’s Q1 2025 platform share data, which indicates:
- Online listening accounts for 28.5% of all UK radio listening
- DAB+ accounts for 42.1%
We apply a ratio of 42.1 ÷ 28.5 to our known online figures to model equivalent DAB+ reach and listening hours. This reflects the larger share of radio listening attributed to DAB+ and helps advertisers see the likely cross-platform impact.
Combined Audience Totals
While only the online data is directly measured, the DAB+ figures are modelled using nationally recognised benchmarks. We present these as credible estimates suitable for advertising proposals and media planning, and we’re happy to provide additional methodology detail if needed.
